The Bulk Upload feature in Discovery Commerce, under the Automation section, allows you to create new campaigns or update existing ones for multiple media platforms (Meta, DV360, Google, TikTok, etc.) through Excel uploads. 


Custom Templates

If you require a custom template, please communicate your specific requirements to Shopalyst. Once these are understood, the Shopalyst team will implement the template on the Shopalyst Ad platform, making it available for your use.


Steps to Create a Campaign via Bulk Upload

Follow the steps below to create a campaign using the bulk upload option:


1. Upload Your Media Plan:

  • Go to the Plan Upload screen in the Ads Builder and click the Upload Media Plan button.

2. Select Media Platform:

  • Choose the media platform you want to run your campaign on (Facebook, Google, TikTok, etc.) and download the appropriate campaign template from the screen.


3. Refer to Platform-Specific Links:

  • Based on your chosen platform, refer to the relevant upload links below:


4. Choose Input Method:

  • You can either upload an Excel file (.xlsx format) or copy the shareable URL of your Google Sheet and paste it into the designated field. Ensure you grant access to the following email:
    programmaticadbuying@programmaticadbuying.iam.gserviceaccount.com
    This will allow the system to retrieve the data and automatically import it into the platform.




5. Review the Upload Template:

  • The upload template consists of two tabs: Instructions and Data Input Sheet. Carefully review the instructions and ensure all required fields are filled out to complete a successful upload.

6. Submit the Template:

  • After completing the template, upload the sheet and click Submit. You will be redirected to the Plan Upload screen.

7. Preview Campaign Details:

  • Click the action button to preview your campaign details. You can also download the original input sheet and review metrics like impressions, reach, and CPM.




8. Check Upload Status:

  • Review the upload status under the Plan Upload screen. The following status icons help you track your campaign’s progress:

SavedThe campaign has been created and not yet published.
QueuedOne of the campaign actions (like publish, reserve audience, etc) is in queue,waiting for completion.
Publish failedThe upload process has been failed.
Campaign published in platformThe campaign is published and live on the platform.
Campaign inactive in platform

The campaign is inactive on the platform due to one of the possible reasons:

  • Paused on platform
  • End date has passed


9. Completion Time:

  • The estimated time of completion can be viewed by hovering the mouse over the status icon.


10. Notification of Completion:

  • Upon completion of the process, a notification will appear in the top-right corner of the application.



11. Publish the Campaign:

  • The final step is to publish your campaign.
